Hon Susan Gakii Gitonga
DEPUTY REGISTRAR SMALL CLAIMS COURT
Hon. Susan Gakii Gitonga is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya with over 10 years’ experience in the legal profession. She holds a Bachelors of Law Degree from Moi University School of Law (Annex Campus), a post graduate diploma in law – Advocate’s Training Programme from the Kenya
School of Law. She is currently pursuing a Masters in Public Policy & Management at Strathmore University Business School.
Hon. Gitonga is currently the Deputy Registrar Small Claims Court at the Office of the Registrar Magistrates Court and was previously the Head of station & Adjudicator at Milimani Small claims court. She also previously worked as a Senior Resident Magistrate at Milimani Commercial court.
Before joining the Judiciary, she worked as an Associate at Kamau and Kibanya Advocates where she sharpened and continues to utilize her legal and analytical skills. She later joined The Directorate of Public Prosecutions where she horned her skills and grew to the rank of Senior Prosecution Counsel before exiting to join the Judiciary.
Hon. Gitonga is passionate about People Management and rendering justice, equality and fairness where it is due. She is a bold, humble, Innovative and Dynamic Leader with focus on Access to Justice, promoting excellent team spirit and meeting deliverables.
Hon. Gitonga is a Member of the Law Society of Kenya, Kenya Magistrate and Judge’s Association and the International Association of Women Judges.
Being in a Leadership position at the Judiciary, Hon. Gitonga is ardent about Organizational Leadership, diligence, resource mobilization and Innovation aimed at ensuring excellence in promoting access to justice.
