HON KENNEDY KANDET,is a holder of a Master of Laws Degree(LLM),in the thematic area of Law Governance and Democracy,Bachelor of Law (LL,B) and a post graduate Diploma in Law.He joined the judiciary as a Magistrate and served as such in various court stations including Garissa,Meru and Milimani Commercial.He rose through the ranks until his appointment by the Judicial service Commission as the first Registrar of the then Industrial Court. He also served as Assistant Registrar of the Magistrate’s Court.

Mr Kandet has attended many training and conferences,(local and international),that have had a positive impact on his judicial career,They include,strategic Leadership Development Programme (SLDP) from the Kenya School of Government, the Role of African Judiciaries in promoting gender justice (Accra,Ghana),Piracy and Security aspects(Rome-Italy),Alternative Dispute Resolution Mechanisms(Arusha-Tanzania),Judicial Administration at the Royal Institute of public Administration,United Kingdom,Contemporary Public Administration Management at Galillee Interational Management institute (GiM,israel and JrA senior Administrators course,Cape town,South Africa.He has attended the International Labour 0rganization(lL0) conference (2019) in Geneva,Switzerland.Currently Mr kandet is a member of the Judiciary Human Resource Management committee/selection Board, Member of the National Labour Board and secretary to the Employment and Labour Relations Rules Committee. He has spearheaded the development of the Employment and labour Relations Court (ELRC) (Procedure) Rules,2016,the ELRC Service Delivery charter,The ELRC Registry Operation Manual and the ELRC Strategic plan among many other initiatives that have seen the court grow into the status envisaged in the Constitution of Kenya 2010.
